THE BIRTH OF NEW COVENANT CHURCH LODZ
In May 2006 the lord told me to go to Poland and start a new centre for New Covenant
Church. Initially I didn’t oblige due to the inability to raise the needed capital we would need to establish the church. I didn’t have any contacts in Poland by that time, so I abandoned the assignment. I did it for about 4 years until one day, that I was in a trans in God’s presence and The Lord visited me by saying to me that “If you don’t go to Poland NOW I will replace you”. I was shocked and I started crying of not knowing what to do, the fear of the Lord overwhelmed me instantly.
The Bible says ”The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding
has all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever” (Psalm111:10). I called my wife and explained my encounter with God to her and we both agreed to get a ticket
and plan a journey for our first visit to Poland. Not knowing anybody or where we were going to be up there. We decided to pray about by opening Poland Map and pray
over the whole land of Poland and God lead us to Łódź.
On the 10th of May 2010 we arrived at Łódź airport and took a Taxi to our booked hotel in town and in less than 40min we got to our hotel drop our bags and headed straight to the city for evangelism. Please remember that we had no contact at all and yet we were still trusting God at this time. It was about 2 days left on our 1 week visit to lodz that we met a very loving and caring Christian sister, who’s named Anne Davids. She was so passionate for the things of God, a woman that truly loves and fears God. She invited us to her house for lunch the next day whereby we shared our vision and our purpose of coming to Łódź. She was so astonished about my encounter and the steps my wife and I have taken to accomplish our purpose, that she promised to assist in starting the church. In short she happened to be our first member in the whole country of Poland. We travelled back to Ireland the next day in which I promised to come back in a month time. After one month I travelled back to Łódź for a whole 3 weeks to evangelize for members and to acclimatise with the city and the country of Poland as a whole. During my stay for 3 weeks I met a young shamming looking guy by the name of Patrick Kana and so many other people courtesy of Sister Annie who volunteered in taking me out to visit nearly everyone that I ministed to during that period.
On the 18th of July 2010 we held our first Service at a small conference room of the Hotel “Polona” in Łódź. It was a great joy that New Covenant Church had finally birth a new centre in Poland as the Lord has promised. The Bible says “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope for He who promised is faithful” (Heb.10:23). Ever since, the church has been marching on and “the gate of Hades cannot prevail against it” (Mt.16:18). Since then we have faced some challenges, won many battles and still we are building the Vision of the Lord for His Church for He, Who is Almighty God, out of His immeasurable mercy has been sustaining us up till now. He still remains the same because He is God of “Yesterday, today and forever” (Heb.13:8). He never
changes. After our first service this charming and amiable young man Patrick Kana joined us first as my interpreter, but ever since he has never look back and since that day he only missed the church service just once. God have used him and still using him in growing and building the community. Patrick’s passion for the things and work of God has moved him tremendously to being ordained by me in 2017 as the Pastor of New Covenant Church in Łódź, Poland.
I would like to give ALL the glory and honour to the Almighty God for fulfilling this mission and to thank my dear wife Rev Mrs Adenike Faith Imole for her great support at all times in taking
the risk of going to Poland alone and the tremendous foundation she was running in Łódź for a whole week in every December. The foundation is called “Faith Foundation” with the support of Pastor Patrick, sister Marta, sister Annie and brother Piotr (Annie’s husband).
